This global crisis has emphasized the system’s shortcomings and inadequacies, albeit the officials’ efforts of concealment. The status quo is being challenged and we are bearing witness. Everything and anything is up for sale, while the people are given false assurances and promises. First world counties are, theoretically, the protectors of the rule of law and the providers of public services. However, the cracks on this façade are slowly showing and the naked truth is being exposed.
