Giorgios Georgiades

Giorgos Georgiadis was born in Larnaca, Cyprus. From a young age he showed a passion for art starting from his room, painting furniture, walls and anything else he could get his hands on. Having run out of surfaces to paint at home and having pushed his parents patience to the limits, he decided to try painting lessons at the school of Petros Podeopoulos. He spent all his afternoons at art school and had no desire to study. All he cared about was painting and he wanted to know everything about it.

His decision to study at the School of Fine Arts came as no surprise and he completed his studies there in 2010 under the instruction of Sakellion Dimitris. In the same year he presented his first solo exhibition in Kefalonia.

His active participation in group exhibitions began in 2009 in Cyprus. Since then he has presented his work in various exhibitions in Cyprus, Greece, the Netherlands and Egypt and in 2018 took part in the acclaimed Rise urban art Festival in London, UK.

In addition to his painting, he began working on stage design in 2007, creating scenes for various plays, children’s performances and short films. He also undertook the decoration of the area of Pefki Municipal Swimming Pool.

Today, he lives and works in Larnaca. He was nominated for a Best Stage Design Award organized by the Cyprus Theater Organization in 2014. In Cyprus he has had three solo exhibitions in Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia.
